DVHS Education Fund (Ed Fund) is a special collaboration between the parents, administrators, teachers and students at Dougherty Valley High School. Our goal is simple - to raise funds to provide the needed academic support to the entire student body. 96% of all donations go back to DVHS in various forms of support for our students. Individual donation is $495.00 and family donation is $825.00
Where does your donation go?
This year the Ed Fund has committed to fund 17 classroom sections (at a cost of $390,150) and classroom consumables ($80,000). We ask a suggested donation of $495 per student/$825 per family. However, any amount that families can donate is greatly appreciated and will help us to meet our annual goal.
Your annual donation at registration is vital because there are NO additional Ed Fund fundraisers throughout the year.
Last year we funded a total of 20 classroom sections - reducing the number of students in core academic classes (English, Math, Science and Social Studies). This allowed for smaller classes and the opportunity for students to take a 7-period day.
Also, parents were not asked by their student's teachers for additional funds to cover necessary classroom supplies. The Ed Fund was able to cover the cost of all supplies needed by teachers to teach the curriculum they planned last year. In addition, the Ed Fund purchased a three-year STEM subscription for the science department providing students interactive science simulations, new modular classroom furniture, and additional lunch tables and outdoor benches.
